The Red Tiger is John John Florence's ultimate High-Performance Shortboard, designed to excel in small to medium-sized, slower, and weaker waves. Its plump outline and wide tail-block squash provide lift, drive, and added pop for aerial manoeuvres. The board features a moderate hip near the front fins, creating a pivot point that allows for tighter turns and release in the lip. What sets the Red Tiger apart is its unique rocker and bottom contour combination. With the flattest rocker in Pyzel's High-Performance Shortboard lineup, this board generates consistent speed from the moment you stand up, even in flat sections or super weak, small waves. The single to double concave through the front two-thirds of the board ensures easy rail-to-rail transitions, while the significant double concave / deep vee combo through the fins and off the tail enables easy vertical surfing and short-arc carves.

The Red Tiger features a balanced and clean thickness flow, with slightly thinner front sections and a flat-ish deck that keeps more foam (volume) towards the rails. The full rails just in from the outline provide sensitivity and bite. For optimal performance, it is recommended to ride the Red Tiger around an inch shorter than a normal High-Performance Shortboard and slightly wider. Adding around .5 to 1 litre of volume will enhance its zing in weaker waves. Whether the surf is under par or turns on, the Red Tiger promises to elevate your everyday sessions.
