Dan Mann's Baked Potato is Firewire's performance evolution of the much-loved Sweet Potato, and easily one of the most reliable small wave weapons in the range. Wide, flat and full of paddle power, it turns mushy, uninspiring beach breaks into proper sessions and still holds its own when the surf jumps up to overhead.

The design pairs a pulled-in nose and trimmed rail volume with an aggressive double concave through the back half of the board. Running down the centre is Firewire's signature V-Spline, which loads the board onto a rail far quicker than the wide outline suggests. The fins sit further back and closer to the rails than usual, so you keep hold and drive in bigger, more powerful surf without the loose, slippery feeling grovellers often give you.

Timbertek construction gives the Baked Potato its distinctive wood grain finish along with proper environmental credentials. A lightweight EPS core is paired with Firewire's parabolic rail system and sustainably grown Paulownia wood deck skins, sealed with an Entropy bio-resin hot coat. The result is a board that feels light, lively and impressively durable, with the same high-performance flex characteristics found across Firewire's other technologies, and one of the smallest carbon footprints in modern surfboard manufacturing.

Fitted with FCS2 boxes for quick, easy fin swaps, the Baked Potato is the kind of small wave board you'll end up reaching for far more often than you expect.
